Alpen Muesli Alpen Muesli

Muesli?

Muesli is a traditional blend of raw rolled oats, dried fruits and nuts that are a good source of fibre. Created in Switzerland in the late 1800s as a cornerstone of healthy living, muesli is no new kid on the block and is sometimes confused with granola. We like to think of muesli as granola’s fit, Swiss cousin. The whole oats in muesli in its traditional form are uncooked and blended with dried fruits and nuts. Today, our Alpen muesli cereals follow the traditional hearty recipe, with all the goodness that helps keep the Swiss active!

There are many ways to enjoy muesli. Try Alpen muesli with cold milk, with added fruit, hot, in yogurt or let it soak overnight. Alpen your mind to all the possibilities and discover your favourite Alpen muesli below!

Heritage

One of the first muesli recipes was created by a Swiss physician, Maximillan Bircher-Benner in the late 1800s. His intention was to create a balanced diet of raw vegetables and fruit used to nourish patients. Around the 1960s when interest around nutritious foods and vegetarian diets developed, muesli grew in popularity in Northern Europe. Since Alpen’s launch in the UK in 1971, it is now sold all over Europe and North America, where it is a favourite part of a high-energy breakfast.
